Empowering Communities: Yogibo Donates to the Manchester Granite YMCA to Support Children with Sensory Needs

Empowering Communities

At Yogibo, we believe in supporting the spaces where kids grow, learn, and thrive. That’s why we were proud to donate to the The Granite YMCA—a cornerstone in New Hampshire’s community development—to help create a welcoming and inclusive space for children with neurological and sensory needs.

About The Granite YMCA

The Granite YMCA has long been a vital hub for families across New Hampshire. With a mission centered on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, this trusted institution provides accessible programs that uplift thousands of individuals—regardless of income, background, or ability.

In particular, the Manchester branch serves as a beacon of inclusion, offering school-age childcare, after-school enrichment, recreational activities, and support systems for families. Their commitment to nurturing every child is clear, and their work has an enduring impact on the local community.

Leadership that Inspires: Doug Currier’s Role

At the heart of this welcoming environment is Doug Currier, Executive Director of the The Granite YMCA - Downtown Manchester. Doug has been instrumental in fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation across the organization. He welcomed the Yogibo team with open arms and enthusiastically embraced the shared vision of creating sensory-friendly environments. His support and encouragement were pivotal in empowering his team—especially Nicci Webster—to bring new ideas to life.

Doug’s leadership created a space where creativity and compassion could thrive, ensuring that programs could adapt and evolve to meet the needs of all children in the community.

Nicci Webster’s Vision: Sensory Rooms for Every Child

Among the YMCA’s changemakers is Nicci Webster, the Regional Director of School Age Children. Nicci has been a passionate advocate for inclusive environments, and recently set out to pioneer the development of sensory rooms across YMCA locations.

Sensory rooms are safe, calming spaces designed to support children with neurological differences such as ADHD, autism, or sensory processing disorders. These spaces allow children to self-regulate, focus, and feel at ease—helping them thrive socially and emotionally within community programs.

When Nicci reached out looking for donations to help bring this vision to life, Yogibo was proud to answer the call. We donated some of our most sensory-friendly products—designed with comfort, deep pressure support, and flexible movement in mind—to help get their first sensory room off the ground.

Why Public Programs Like the YMCA Matter

The YMCA is more than just a gym or childcare provider—it’s a community institution that has transformed the lives of countless youth and families for over a century. Whether it’s providing after-school programs, summer camps, health education, or emotional support, the Y ensures that every child has the opportunity to belong and succeed.

That’s why we encourage you to look into how your local YMCA is supporting children and families—and consider how you can support them in return. Donations, volunteering, advocacy, and partnerships all help expand these life-changing programs.

We are honored to have played a small role in helping Nicci and the Granite YMCA’s team create an inclusive, nurturing environment for all kids. At Yogibo, our mission has always been rooted in comfort and connection—and collaborations like this one bring those values to life.
